Jerry Oliver was hired by Kwame Kilpatrick in 2002 to be Detroit’s chief of police. Since Oliver wasn’t from Detroit, the hire was caused controversy within the Detroit Police Department. Jerry Oliver resigned after about two years, and moved back home to Arizona. His role in the termination of Gary Brown was later examined as part of the whistleblower lawsuit.

Jerry appears in Episode 13.
