Mary Jarrett Jackson was one of Detroit’s first black female police officers, eventually becoming a crime lab technician. In 1973, she discovered that notorious STRESS officer Raymond Peterson had planted a knife on an unarmed man after killing him. Although Peterson was acquitted of murder, he was fired from the Detroit Police Department.

Mary appears in the episode “Stop the Robberies, Enjoy Safe Streets.”
